Hey everyone, I think I read an article a few years ago on here (I can't find it in the search) of someone deleting torsion bars from their front suspension and not making it a rack and pinion conversion. They did coil over shocks and supported accordingly. Does anyone recall this or know who did this and can point me in the correct direction. Again, i am getting older and if memory serves me correct they used a bushing and a large Grade 8 bolt and nut concoction to secure the lower control arm. anyone that remembers this or has the thread, I would like to get my hands on it.

thanks again

Thank you

Yes that can be done but you need to work with a really good chassis shop to brace the front shock mount since the uni-body isn't designed for that load. You would want to tie it into the cage structure. And as mentioned, the lower control arm has to be located and supported in some manner.
