Who makes an acceptable hood for a 68' Plymouth RR now that AAR is closed?
I see several people offering them but ,I have seen some REALLY bad fiberglass parts over the years. 🙄

I was aware that AAR was bought out and changed names years ago but not that they are completely closed..

That said, their hood mold was damaged a number of years back and they did a half-ass repair resulting in the necessity of bodywork before you even think about painting it.

I have a VFN and I'm happy with the quality of the thing overall except the hood latch holes are not in the proper location. Apparently they are for a '68 but not for my 69 !! This strikes me a s strange since there would be a much larger market for the '69 fitment.

Ok..thanks.
I thought they closed up completely 😕
Stinger Fiberglass is the last name I'm familiar with attached to the AAR name.

Stinger/AAR Fiberglass no longer makes any Mopar parts...

If you are looking for a 68 RR hood, that ISN'T a 6 pack style hood, Glasstek makes a stock style RR hood. I was planning on buying a 69 Hood from Stinger, but missed out. Now I'll go with Glasstek, and have to alter it to use 69 hood vents.

Back in the '70's I made a stock '69 RR hood mold and popped out two hoods. This was a high quality mold made under the supervision and in a fiberglass shop.

Fast forward to about ten years ago - I sold the mold to an outfit that sells Mopar hardware - nuts, bolts, etc..as well as some fiberglass stuff. I can't recall their name or where they're from BUT they do show up at Mopars at Carlisle. That hood would only require you to cut out the grill openings.

Here's what it looks like with a silly scoop on it.

I have an Unlimited (up22) ~4.5" cowl hood on my 68 Satellite. Bolted on no problem and is perfectly acceptable.
