I have always had a soft spot for Javelins and AMC, even though most do not.
It looks like it went for a fair price. Although the /6 and three speed probably held it back some.
Trends are changing. Not everything has to be fast, especially considering the cost of fuel. But the more pedestrian cars are more familiar to the general public.
I recently had my Gremlin at a show parked next to my friends' Rebel Machine. The Machine was nearly ignored while the Gremlin drew crowds.
Packed with body filler, and that floor patch is awful.
The problem with AMC's is that there is virtually ZERO reproduction sheet metal. So, unless you are lucky enough to find NOS, as well as rich enough.... you make do.
Me personally, I had to cut apart four different cars and sacrifice a beautiful pair of California Hornet fenders to locate the steel necessary to patch my Gremlin up.
