Well took my daughter's 67 Coronet 500 to the track last night since mine is broke........ Her's has been getting a face lift the last 3 years or so.

Its mostly stock and weighed about 4050 lbs last night with me best guess. AC car. Original 383 with a cam, intake and Holley 750 DP. Sock manifolds and small dual exhaust. I had a Holley Street Dominator on it and a larger cam (about 13.5 deg more duration) and it was lethargic out of the hole. Not even fun to drive. Dumped the Street Dominator (I love the SD intake but it was wrong for this combo) for an Edelbrock RPM dual plane intake and the smaller cam. The new cam has 0.020" more exhaust lift, same intake lift and 13/14 degrees intake/exhaust less duration.

Basically in similar weather the car ran a best of 15.02 at 91 mph. I was hoping for 14.50's with the new combo. Got to 14.82 and best of 94.86 mph, but none was a full throttle run as I could not hook. I suspect once I sort it out it will do better than 14.50. But the biggest thing, it is so much more fun to drive on the street now with the new combo.

Yeah, street cars are so much more fun to drive when the cam and intake are on the small side rather than being too big. Picking a cam that is too big is the most common error that street guys make.
