Working on a 70 Charger SE - can’t get the console courtesy lights to work.

Have power coming in the pink 4 and 6 way connectors but looks like I am missing a switch ground.

There are a yellow male and female bullet connector that I can’t find a connection to. If I ground either of those connectors the courtesy lights come on and stay on even with doors closed and dimmer switch off the detent. These two connectors and wire are at the top of the image.

My guess is the dimmer switch feeds these wires but I see no one to do so. And the owner says the dash cluster was completely gone through.

Anyone have a clue? Also, same car, where does the harness run from the kick panel - under the driver seat to the console or up to the dash, and down to the console.

Right now it’s under the carpet under the driver seat area and the harness exits right now to the shifter area, which shows you how long it actually is.

if i remember correctly, the yellow bullet connector plugs into the door switch, which completes the ground circuit when the door opens, and breaks that circuit when the door is closed.
the travel path for the console harness goes from the kick panel, under the wire tunnel [the fold over tin protector] with the tail light harness, exiting it in an opening by the middle of the driver's seat, then following a depression in the floor to the console.
there should be a couple of screw holes there to attach clips to hold the harness in the floor depression.
that is how my 69 is, and your 70 should be the same.

The harness currently is under the carpet and runs along the prop tunnel exiting next to the shifter. There is way too much harness left over with his current routing.

As for the bullet connector going to the door switch that would definitely fix the light issue but the switches already are in place. So are you saying this bullet should piggyback the door switch?

Thats the wrong harness for a 70 Charger. The correrct harness should be a 4 pin connector at the console. The console side light wiring piggy backs into the dome lamp wiring in the left kick panel. The harness should run down the left side trough and exit at the first cut-out about half way thru the door opening and the run across the floor over to the console.

Is it a 4 speed or automatic? That looks like a 68 harness. Wires follow the floor by the seat , along the rocker and up into the lower A pillar area. They piggy back into the harness. Pink and yellow.
