No accusump or dry sump tanks in passenger compartment has been a rule for as long as I can remeber. Here is the rule in general regulations from NHRA rulebook

1:9 OIL SYSTEM
Accu-sump, dry-sump tanks, oil filters, oil supply lines, etc.
prohibited in driver compartment and outside of frame and/or
steel body/fenders, except as noted in Top Fuel. Oil-pressure
gauge and line permitted in driver compartment, metal or steel
braided line mandatory, maximum 3/16-inch inside diameter.
Power-enhancing additives prohibited

So what you are confirming then is NHRA has never trusted competitors to have "fluids" in the drivers compartment like so many other sanctioning bodies have for years?

No I am confirming the NHRA rules. Their game their rules if you don't like it don't race with them. Pretty simple to follow rules.

Right or wrong, different sanctioning bodies have some different rules, as they're often reactive to an event.
That said, it has always amazed me that for decades, Cup cars would get their mech fuel pumps knocked off in a wreck, with an ensuing fire.
Or that it took them forever to mandate fuel cells with rollover valves.

My experience has been that the tech guy(s) at the track sometimes had their own interpretation, or wanted something changed/upgraded to suit their own standard.
Yet from time to time some pile would pull up next to me in the staging lanes and I'd pull out so I wouldn't have to run alongside him.
The NHRA Div 6 tech guy has more stringent requirements - a few beyond the rule book - than anyone who teched my car in Div 7.
The answer for that is to build to the next ET/whatever level - likely feeding NHRA sponsors ? - so you don't have an issue when you get to the track.

Yes they seem more free about that part also seat belts I think have 5 year lifespan and they hit the wall at 200 mph more than drag cars do.

After a lot more study, and moving a 4" diameter shipping tube around the car and engine bay, I finally found a location I can live with.

The Accusump did find a home on the inner fender well. It will make changing #1 and #3 plug changing a little more fun, but not impossible.

I made a mounting plate for the Accusump, and planned to put the solenoid valve below the Accusump. With all of the fittings installed, it was not possible with the minimum bend radii of the hose. So, i ended up with the solenoid mounted next to the Accusump mounting plate. Line from the Accusump will go from the manual valve to the solenoid valve. The line from the solenoid valve to the adapter on the oil pump will go under the Accusump mounting plate. This is a pretty straight shot.

If i remember correctly, you can remove the hand valve and install the solenoid valve directly

I have the Canton solenoid valve which is much heavier.than the solenoid valve (ASCO) Moroso sells. The valve has a mounting pattern on the bottom I used to mount it to the inner fender.

I did not want the valve weight hanging on the plumbing.
