Unfortunate incident w/ leaky mechanical oil pressure gauge means I need to replace the carpet in my '73 Challenger. I'm looking for suggestions for which brand(s) of carpet to use -- or avoid -- so I can address the situation ASAP. Thx

100% stock: 1.680, 11.894 at 113.75 (DA 175 ft)

1973 Challenger 452 ci street/strip [2008]
pump gas, DOT radials: 1.454, 10.523 at 126.44 (DA 514 ft)

Rockauto sells ACC brand. That's the best around and fairly reasonable.

I have used Pro -fit carpet and ACC. Both worked well. Funny thing (or maybe not funny) I had the exact same thing happen. I broke the oil pressure plastic line and dumped oil on my carpet while driving home one night. I didn`t notice it until I got home about 4 quarts later. BTW, IIRC they both were ACC carpet.

ACC carpet from RockAuto. Get the "Mass Backing" option. It's a rubber coating on the under side of the carpet. It helps the carpet keep its shape and is a sound deadener. I did not get the mass backing on my Challenger carpet but I did on my Dart. The Dart carpet went in a lot smoother, keeps its shape nicer and just feels much nicer. Well worth a little bit extra money.

The "loop" style is factory. The "Essex" looks like modern carpet.

surprised no one is recommending the carpet from ECS , has that ship sailed and no longer avail????

Ive used nothing but ACC carpet for the well over 20 years.

get it out of the box asap, and let it lay flat every time. and every time no issues

I’m pretty sure ECS discontinued its shipped-flat ACC carpet option.

Check ebay also. I got carpet for my truck on there few years ago. It was from some random seller but drop shipped from ACC and beat everyone else's prices.
