Should a 727 transmission be drained warm or cold? I am getting ready to install my new pan....If it warms up!! wrench

Do you want warm/hot oil dripping all over you ?

Do it cold , if it doesn't have a drain plug on the convertor take the front external cooler line off at the trans and let it drain.

Since you are removing/replacing the pan. If it doesn't have a magnet I would add one.

They won't save a bad transmission but hey are a great help in letting you know the internal wear when you remove the pan next time.

A drain plug in the pan is nice also. less mess when draining or changing fluid.
