Hello guys, In my barracuda with a 340, It seems to be running really well. Lots of power and pick up. In my quest for perfection I have noticed that when I am just barely cruising about 30 or 35 mph or so, when I am just barely giving it just a little gas, there may be a slight miss or say a hesitation ever so slightly. I have a Mopar hi-po elec. ign. with the orange box. Could this be a timing issue or just something I am just imangineing. What do you think?

temporarily bump your jets up 3 sizes, try it then back to what you had and check your rotor phasing at the offending speed that it acts up at(same load/rpm)

I have a eddie Thunder 650 cfm. So you think it may be too small of jets?

It might be a little bit lean at cruise & would not take much to check.

Do you still have the original Thermoquad?

You have an Eddy so far easier yet just grab the set of rods out of your strip kit that have the thinnest "cruise" step.

What don't you like about the Eddy AVS? I'm thinking about buying that same carb.

Nothing really, My eddie has been fine. This is my second and I have had no troubles. I wish they would of had some different cfm choices though. Like a 675 Thunder would have been nice. I went with eddie for past exp. and I have a eddie RPM manifold.

If it has a slight miss or a slight amount of surging at a steady cruise, the carb is to LEAN on curcuit it running on most likely the cruise circuit or the first step of the rod. Try the next step smaller rod on the cruise mode which would richen the carb slightly. The owners manual has the chart with the calabration table in it. I'm also running the Thunder 650 on my 340 and it runs great.
