Trying to get my son's power steering buttoned up and have hit year another snag. I was fortunate to find a pump, but not I am having hose issues. I have the same setup in my Barracuda and was able to find a hose that did not require an adapter (not sure of the application, but I will go back to O'Reilly's and see what I bought). I have two different adapters, one straight and one 90. Both use a smaller flare fitting for the hose that the hose I got that is supposed to be correct for a '69 440 Charger. Picture is the pump in my Barracuda. Any source for the adapter?

Hydraulic shops that are competent will have the adapters, fittings, or just make you a new hose

Big block A-Body's use a 90 degree adapter and I have found it at Parker Hydraulic stores...

The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.

With the manifolds we are using and the tube on the hose wrapping around the valve body on the gear we don't need the 90. I'm not sure what the application would be for the pump I have and the 90, either. Also, I believe that is the TRW pump.

There are two different flare sizes, 1/4" and 5/16"...I believe the change to the smaller size was in '69. The thread in the box is 1/2"-20 and the factory P/N for the 1/4" flare fitting is 2537386.

I need the 5/16 or I need the hose I used on my Barracuda. I just can't remember what application I used, but I do know approximately when I bought it and just need O'Reilly's to look it up.

The part # for a male -5 fitting is 6400-05-05. Male -05 JIC X -05 ORB. That's what I had on my 69 Coronet when I ran a PS unit and a pressure hose from Napa for a Federal pump.

That's a common P/N and any Hyd shop should be able to cross it. If you pay anything over $2.00...then file a police report because you got robbed.
