Who makes a decent replacement pan for the 727? Mine is leaking and I don't want to mess around with it. A new one with a drain plug would be nice! It is just a street car so I don't need anything that uses a filter extension and holds an extra 4 quarts! Thanks! Ted wave

I kinda like the factory oem replacements. I have used them in the past. With or without drain lug.

From above

Edit: Stumpy beat me to it.

The factory plastic type gasket that goes with those OEM pans is great and works with any pan, but the dealers want a lot of money for them. They are reusable so the pain is a one time event.

Also make sure if you get a thicker setup than stock that the bolts are long enough.

Those are deeper than the original early model pans. Early pans were

The late model valve bodies are thicker with all the solenoids and the overdrive circuits.

The thicker valve body holds the filter lower in the pan so you may want to add an extension to the filter to get it deeper into the fluid but most will say not necessary if it reads full on the dipstick.

Years ago I looked all over for a stock oem height raw steel pan and all I could find was deeper ones or chromed plated steel ones. If someone makes a stock replacement that would be cool, but I'm unsure if such a thing exists???

I prefer the aluminum pans as they are less prone to distorting. twocents

We ran the deep A-500/R4X pan on my Valiant for 3 years when I was spraying it with no filter spacer. It didn't hurt anything. It was running low 12s then.

The hard gaskets with 0-Ring from Mopar are the best. Also re- use is not an issue

This thread says the part number is 2464324AC, It's the same gasket they put on the newer overdrive transmissions they used in 1500 series trucks for years it juts happens to have the same footprint as the 727. They also make a 904 version as well.

Ted, be aware that the thicker gasket needs longer bolts in some locations.

I would too, but all cast aluminum pans are deeper than stock that I’ve found.

The Summit Racing pan is priced well, made well and would dissipate heat as well.
It is not super deep and would work on a street car.

I know these are deep. But I've used a bunch of them. They are really nice. Boght from Amazon.
