That shows all 62-70 B body 8-3/4 rears as the same width. Aren't 65-67 narrower? shruggy

i'm almost positive the 65-66 rears are an inch or so narrower than the 68-70 rears.
i know for a fact the 66 rear i installed in my 64 belvedere post car was an inch plus narrower on each side than the original keyed axle rear was. also, i believe the 64 rear is wider than the 62/63 rears, but i don't know by how much.
that chart has been around for years, and has been complained about being wrong for as many years as it has been out there.

I have an old Mopar Performance Chassis book. It still groups the axles as above (B Bodies '62 - '70). Leaf spring centre lines and axle widths (flange to flange) are the same as above. shruggy

Here's a 71 factory 603222-1 B dana and a strange S 60 E body dana side by side. Hard to tell from the picture but 275-60-15 would rub on the wheel lip with the B dana and not with the E

Thank you, that's what I was originally thinking, but wanted to confirm. Thinking the Dr DIff )Cass) inboard kit would work nicely with this rear.

I just got his A Body kits in.the mail Monday. Was here in 3 days and kit looks great. Well made and powder costed too.

I've sent Cass a couple

I messaged Dr diff, so hopefully he can get back me if his kit would be a bolt in or if I need to cut off the perches.

Did you swap in that rear to a 1971/72 b-body?

No

The b-body dana was in my 70 Cuda when I bought it. Since that dana is a trac lock and I'm running 600hp it wasn't safe for that HP. Since it was a rare factory dana I was better off selling it and using the funds to buy the stronger S60 for an E-body. So I took the S-60 off the pallet put the b-body dana on it and shipped it to Canada where a member did install it in a 71 hemi charger.

Ok cool, thank you.
Got measurements. Ok, so end of housing is 61.6 inches and perches center to center is 46.00 inches by his calculations.

So Cass gave me a heads up that the assembly won’t bolt in with his kit. It would be easier to just order a rear from him with the perches I need with the width I needed. Buy the other rear, having it crated, shipped, soap the gears and modify the perches would run the same, so it’s no point. Going to pass. So if somebody wants an e-body Dana S60 from strange in the Michigan state, pm me and I’ll hook you up with the seller..
