***** Dog Transport *****

I know this isn't car related but I wanted to post this help request because this dog is at a "kill-shelter" and I really want him but I'm currently stuck not being able to travel far at the moment and hoping maybe someone might be able to help. I'm also seeking help from pet transport companies as well ... Thx !!

Is anyone driving up through Georgia To Kentucky or anywhere near Kentucky that could or would be willing to pick up a small dog for me in Winder, Georgia, and bring him to me or as close as possible to Louisville ???

I am adopting this little man and right now, he is mine to lose which is why I'm trying to work it out to get him transported for me. I cannot leave home this coming week because I am watching over 6 dogs and a couple of cats and one of the dogs is sick so, until the following week ... I am stuck here.
If anyone can help or you know anyone who can help, I would greatly appreciate it. Please feel free to drop me a line and let me know what your fee is and we'll take it from there.

***** OR ***** Or if you can pick the puppy up in Winder, GA, and deliver him to Ringgold, GA which is only about 2 hours and 15 minutes apart where a friend of mine is willing to bring him as far as Beechbend Raceway Park next Friday and I can pick him up from there. I'd be perfectly satisfied with this if we can just get it done ??

Thx, Jeff.

I think if you will spend a little time on Google you may be able to find some help.

There are many organizations that will drive (via relay) or even fly pets for adoption.

This is just one of many:

Yes, thx !! I usually drive to or fly to where the dogs are and typically adopt mainly from "kill-shelters" because they have the least chance of survival. I'm in contact with a couple of the transport sites now but it is getting harder and harder to trust some of these people which is why I've come to the people here on this site "this time" due to my current situation. I have a TON of confidence in the people here vs. there ... I used one of the delivery sites a little over a year ago and it took a little while to find one where I trusted the person actually doing the transport. I will check out the link you forwarded ... Thx !!

If I can just get this little man from A to B on this map for now ... he will be out of danger of being euthanized ...

I am in southern Georgia right now, heading to Florida in the morning then back to Georgia tomorrow. I had to pick up parts in northeast Atlanta today. I don't know if I have the time to help, let me look at it tomorrow...

Getting this wrapped up in the morning with a "HUGE" thanks to this car site and Jim Rhinehart ... for being able to and willing to step up to the plate and pull that little guy out of the "kill shelter" !!! This little guy "Blake" has no idea how blessed he is getting to leave tomorrow "ALIVE" vs some of the others at that shelter which will be euthed fairly soon if not adopted, rescued, or fostered ...

As I mentioned ... this is not a request that I would or will normally place an ad for on a "car" site but I know the people here have a heart and I really want that little dog but am unable to travel down there fast enough right now in order to pull him out of harm's way in time. Blake has absolutely no dollar value whatsoever but I just want him ...

Thanks again, Moparts And Jim ... up

Yes, Sir, He Will ... You are correct ... "Thanks To Everyone Here For Allowing Me This Opportunity" ... up

"VICTORY" ... Blake is out of danger of being euthanized at the shelter. This is step one of his new life. He is comfortably waiting at his foster home until this Friday ... 🐾🎈💞

Thx so much ... Yes, I'm a HUGE advocate for dogs and adopting ... I'm constantly pushing people on Facebook to seek from "kill-shelters" first because those dogs have the least amount of time. Houston, San Antonio & Kansas City are the WORST at being "Kill-Shelters" because they are constantly overrun each and every day and they have to make unfortunate decisions because funding and space are limited and through no fault of their own, they cease to exist and are discarded and placed into a meaningless, mass grave, ... my dog motto on Facebook is "ADOPT, ADOPT, ADOPT, Or Foster Or Rescue" Any of the three options will save at least one dogs life. This little man would most likely be dead right now as I write this unless someone else happened to adopt him before me but ... it is Sunday and he is alive and is now a perfect playmate with my other adoptions ... up

As of Friday evening... He Is Home ...

Two Hour Ride From Beech Bend Friday And 90% Of That Time, He Crawled Up My Back And Laid Across My Shoulders And Either Slept Or Watched The Traffic ...
One good thing that I learned Friday is that he didn't seem to be phased much by the drag cars firing up even though they were maybe a couple of hundred feet away nor did the alcohol cars so, that is good but no one close to where we were, fired their motor ... That might have shaken him up some though ??

Thx again, everyone ... by allowing me to make this request on this site ... you did a very good thing up

Been offline since I picked up the pooch, soooo glad the good Lord used me to save another one of his creatures! It was hard for me to give Blake up, sweet little doggy for sure. He was scared to death and shaking like crazy when I took him out of the shelter, and of course peed on the console as soon as I put him in the truck. No problem, I was prepared and cleaned it up. Took about an hour for him to finally trust me, then he laid on the console and put his chin on my arm! We believe he is half Chihuahua and half Jack Russell and was burrowing wherever he could find a place. Before I gave him to Mike and his wife to hold for Jeff he had perked up and was sitting on the console checking out everything going by! He is going to be a good little pup... up

You guys are awesome! Thanks for saving the pooch and the transport!

For anyone looking to save an animal in the future, on FB there are groups that will fly the pet to you for free, Delta Animal Rescue Transport is one of them.
