With stellantis shutting down challenger/charger production I wonder if thiere gonna shut down direct connection, mopar and anything else that might effect our mopar world as we know it?It might be time at least for my wife and i to try and support other mopar shows large are small where we can.Been watching other car shows around and they all have something too fer. drivePast mopar shows I've been at started in 1989 Power at the Point at sears point sonoma,ca...Chryslers at Carlisle since 1997 ...Mid Atlantic Mopar Nationals 1988...The Mopar Car-B-Que..Mopars at English Town..Just thinking I have been supporting mopar shows over the years

I try to preach this all the time!!! And I DO practice what I preach. I try to attend as many Mopars shows as I can each year from coast to coast, big and small!!

Any Mopar show going away is bad for the hobby. Yes, I am fortunate to make my living off the hobby that I love. But that's just it, I love this hobby. I live and breathe Mopars/cars. It's what I do 24/7/365. If I switch careers in the future, my garage will still be full of Mopars. Heck, if I switch careers, I will have more time to work on and enjoy them!!

I try to work with all other show promoters and help out in any way possible.

If you read my post in the other thread, I now have proof that Carlisle is growing MORE in classic Mopars on the Showfield than what we are the modern muscle. That's an awesome sign for the classic/muscle side of the hobby!!

Enjoy these cars and support every show you can!!

I attend the Mopar's at the Red Barns Gilmore Museum show every year, in western Michigan.
This year, was their biggest yet, I believe they had over 1,000 cars this year.
Swap meet was big too, and attendance/spectators was high.
It helped greatly that the weather was great that day. But the point is
this show is getting bigger and better every year. The various car museum's and buildings on the grounds
alone, is well worth the trip and effort. The annual Mopar show is icing on the cake.

MoParty in Bowling Green is a great event to attend. I also try to make Spring and/or Fall Fling in Van Nuys every year along with Big Daddy show in Ocala and MoPars in May during the Somernites cruise in Somerset, kY. Carlisle is an excellent show and try to hit a few dealership shows when they are held.

Let them shut DC down. In six months to a year they will dump it all and we will be able to buy it for 40% of org. cost or less. In the last 15 years I have bought thousands of dollars of mopar products for next to nothing.

We all know how overpriced it is.

Ive been stocking up on hellcat wear items and body related wear parts for the past year. So folks just need to plan ahead.

Its gonna happen sooner then later.

But yes, attend the shows!

I'm starting to notice classic muscle cars that need a bit of work at more reasonable prices, not that I've seen them in person. drive

I gave up on local Mopar only shows years ago. The VIN checker/paint daub correctness guys ruined it for me. My car is no where near correct....last "Mopar only" show I was at, I had a couple guys walk up. look at my car, check the VIN and walk away. Really? I'm well aware that my car is a no numbers matching nothing but that doesn't mean there has been no effort or money spent to keep it out of the crusher. Those are the same guys that will whine about attendance at shows.

I can take my car to an all makes/models show and talk to folks all day long. They appreciate the cars and the time/work/money that has put into them. 470" low deck stroker, 4spd, 3:73 rear, pistol grip, non-Mopar green, etc, etc.

Wow, love the car and it has a perfect stance. Looks like a fun one to drive. I do a lot of mixed shows and cruises too, very enjoyable, especially cars and coffee events.

Easy fix: Hide the VIN with a towel, a card, or a flyer picked up at the event.

My '69 GTX is not a clone, but I often cover the VIN up because not only do I have nothing to prove, but also
the numbers on the car are none of their goddamned business.

It's never been "show worthy" but I've actually had freaks come up and check the VIN at the drag strip.

Luckily the fender tag is from a 1968 Plymouth Fury VIP and they can never any make sense out of it LOL......

Looking back, I wish I would have taken more fender tags from junkyard vehicles back in the day, for the same reason.

Maybe I'll try a couple shows when I get it back together.

ill say the same thing i said when everyone said i should support the englishtown mopar nationals even thought it was a garbage event at the time..

it is not my job to blindly support any show. it is there job to make it so i want to attend. its really that simple.

roadkill nights i'd love to go to. power tour i'd love to go to, drag week i'd love to check out, sick week i'd love to check out. so there are shows/events that do things that make me want tot attend. shows like mopar nats or carlisle just don't do it for me anymore...

there is a local mopar show that i refuse to attend. the guy running it is a shyster. charges way too much for parking in a restaurants parking lot. when asked where the funds go he won't say. if it was a good cause then ok i'm of with it, thought i'd rather choose what i donate. i think he is lining his pockets if ya ask me.

You ever been involved in putting on a show?

Ain't nobody getting rich putting on Mopar shows, buddy. Big ones or small ones. It's a ton of work--in advance and during the weekend itself. Most shows are run by car guys volunteering our free time, Taking tickets, organizing show fields or race brackets, working in the heat for little or nothing so people can have a good time with other car guys.

There's always a small number of entitled types who bit** and complain about every little thing that wasn't done the way they would have done it. Well come on out and show us all how it's done! There's always room for another volunteer!

Or better yet, start your own show. I'll come to it!

laugh2 the Fury fender tag is a hoot!
I used to go to the Mopar show in Centerline, at the Chrysler parts depot (afaik it's defunct now)..
Morons would walk around and nitpick cars (including mine) and act as if their [censored] didn't stink!
I would just ignore their dumbass comments and enjoy the rest of the day, without the nonsense.

Ive checked vin tags just to test how much I recall about what codes mean what, or if it's really a true hemi or six pack. What drives me nuts are the guys who see you looking at their car and come over to tell you how great it is.

Also, what's this "direct connection" previously mentioned...I think it's a sticker and t shirt company because that's all I've ever seen them sell.
