I am rebuilding my lower control arms and I bought Moog K791 bushings like I have in the past, but these are different and are wrong on almost every dimension. The outside diameter is about .015 too big compared to a older stock of Moog bushing. I don't even think it could be pressed.into the control arm being that much too big.. The ID is also too large, the shaft can be put in almost all the way by hand. Does anyone make a rubber replacement bushing that fits? I don't want poly. My older Moog bushing that is correct says "HARRIS" on the rubber at the end. Thanks

The only brand that I have not heard of issues with lately is Pro Forged, but that doesn't mean they don't have a problem. I suspect there's very few actual manufacturers anymore as the LCA bushing problem seems to be almost universal...

I think some of the GM A-Body Community use these bushings and their stuff for now.

I found some NOS both upper and lower bushings and put them away as spares.

My car had NOS when it was done. So odds are Im set for life
To be honest, I have just about everything NOS Mopar front suspension stuff stashed away . Just recently picked up all 4 tie rod ends
Bought an nos right lower this weekend, And now all I need is pitman and idler arms

About 30 years ago I bought three B-body suspension/steering "kits" that were all TRW. My wife asked my why and I couldn't really give her a good reason. I am waiting for her to ask again.....

It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

The od shouldn't be a problem to install.
But the ID, that's a problem for sure!
Have you checked dia. of your shafts?

I have an update on this...... I ordered both AC Delco and Mevotech lower control arm bushings from Rockauto and received them today. Both of those are the same bushing, and have "HARRIS" molded into the rubber just like the older (probably at least 10 years) MOOG made in Mexico bushing I had here.

I also did some measuring, the ID of the lower control arm measures 1.462 and the OD of the shaft measures .809-.810

The OD of the all the "HARRIS" bushings measure between 1.462 and 1.470, they taper and get larger towards the end with the lip. The ID of all the HARRIS bushings measure .806-.807

The new MOOG bushings (Made in India) measure 1.478 - 1.495 on the OD, they taper as well, and .812 on the ID. I also noticed the the sleeve is not in the center of the rubber at the bottom of the bushing, it is noticeably off to one side.

These new MOOG bushings are junk, both dimensions are wrong. On the larger end of the MOOG bushing the press fit into the lower control arm would be .033 and the ID of the bushing is larger than the shaft so it is a slip fit. I use to think MOOG was the high end best quality in stock replacement suspension and steering parts. Now I think they are one of the worst. These bushings are not even useable.

Man-Oh-Man: Moog is junk, even when Harris molded in like oem originals.
Harris always appeared on these bushings back when.
Sad day for sure.
Hope you find something worth using.

Just so sad for the hobby these days, when you have to search for NOS for such common wear items.

Has anyone tried the Delphi Technologies products?

No lower control arm bushings available at this time, but.....

Looks like uppers and other wear parts are available.

100% true statement. India was making motor mounts 20 years ago or so (it's been a long time since I've bought any) and they were absolute garbage.

Haven’t used them. Would like to know if this is just the same reboxed trash others pedal. Also they do sell lowers, page two of 16 items for a b body.

I'd prefer to find a good NEW part versus relying on the intergrity of 30/40/50 yr old rubber ... but that's me. We can thank the EPA for the garbage we have to live with now.

I put Moog lower bushings in my 69 GTS that only had 56k miles on it in 2006 , the next spring when I looked under the car i could see that the rubber was already starting to check on the outside. I can only imagine what they look like now with the car being in hibernation since then ...

What about Energy Suspension or PST - ones with polygraphite??? Since nobody has mentioned them, I'm guessing no good?

In the HD truck market, there is a company called Atro that makes some GREAT components like this for many applications. I've never looked to see if they do anything for automotive, but I'm going to look into that.

Not a fan of polys on the street , I'll admit my only experience was ocassional in a friends rustang daily driver/strip car over the years, but to harsh a ride for my taste.
