Had a low deck 470 with a full Trick Flow top end on the dyno last week. TF240 heads, intake and the TF hyd roller cam. Engine is typical street engine with pump gas compression and street friendly parts. Makes nice power, 590 square which isn't bad. Owner wanted to see 600 hp but it was close. Could hit 600 with some tweaking but not really necessary for a street car. The torque curve should put a smile on his face. I think it is going into a RR.
This guy had a high buck all billet carb from BLP. He said it worked great. It sure looked sweet. Seemed to work okay although we didn't do any carb testing. Just ran it out of the box and it was close enough to make some pulls. Customer lives at a higher altitude so we didn't bother trying to dial the carb in on the dyno since he'll have to redo all that work once he gets home.

I'm eyeballing a pair of those heads. Need to get some track time before I decide though. Finally got the fuel system sorted. Soon hopefully.

That is a sweet combo for the street.

Just off the cuff, the 470 is making a little better hp/cube, which makes sense with the longer duration lobe. It would be a fun test to dyno it with 2 different cams with the same lobes, with the only difference being 108 vs. 112 LSA, and then check it again at the track to see if it impacts ET any. The narrowish LSA seems to make sense with what Trick Flow was targeting, stock block builds where you're trying to keep the engine speed down for longevity and keep the hydraulic rollers out of instability, provided you can live with the degredation in idle quality and low speed drivability.

I think the lobes in my custom cam have a little more lift than the TF lobes but I'm not positive on that. I'd have to look it up and I don't have the numbers handy. The other possibility is that the lobes Dwayne used on my cam have more area under the curve even though the published specs are the same. I'd have to know more than the 0.050 numbers to make that comparison.
In either case, the TF combo works really well out of the box and is easily capable of "bolt on" 600 hp. Andy, what was the overlap for your cam versus the TF cam? If one cam had more exhaust duration than the other, I assume that would make a big difference in characteristics, overlap and installed center line both being different.

Andy, What was the compression ratio (CR)? With the uncut TF Mopar heads at 78cc, with 470 CID I would guess 11. Dyno sheet said 10.2 for compression. I don't recall which pistons were used, I guess a flat top with a reverse dome but I don't know which brand.

Nice. Every time I see one of these builds I'm a little disappointed in my 541. Then, I remember the smooth idle at 800 RPM, high vacuum, and rolling in at 600 lb/ft at 3000. I could easily get more out of mine but that's not what I built it for.
Still enjoy seeing the builds and results.

Burned out. It's affected my health. I'm going back to my prior employer (with a promotion) on Wednesday. My original plan to start today was thwarted by jury duty. Once things settle down at work I'll get the intake installed, reseal the timing cover and pan then go back to the dyno. It's been well over 100 degrees here lately so outside activities have been limited anyway.

Nice combo, My only Comment is 10.2:1 is a little low for an aluminum head big bore engine with that much displacement and cam IMO.
More Compression is More Torque throughout the powerband on a combo like that. That motor might do better with a dual plane or a Ported street dominator than that particular single plane. Agreed. We run 11:1 on pump gas 93 in the 505 with no issues. Probably could go lower, but never really wanted to mess with it since I have 93 right down the street from me.
