I have a wiper switch in my 72 Demon that works but when i turn the wipers on to speed one then go to speed two they delay, then start and in the position, it makes like a boing sound like a spring does when you tap the side of it with a screwdriver. I am having a rough time finding a reasonable priced nos one. can this be taken apart, cleaned and rebuilt?

Thank you

Are you feeling lucky or looking for some one else to repair it? Are you asking about the wiper motor or switch?

wiper switches are an easy rebuild. Generally they just full of copper filings from the friction of the contacts. Clean things up and reassemble. Since the case is diecast you'l probably end up breaking the tabs that hold the thing together but that's an easy fix with some small pushscrews.

Crap. i just reported my own thread.

I had an old broken one that was missing a terminal, so I pulled it apart did some cleaning of the bras or copper inside put back together. I will bench test it sooner or later before i dig into the one in the demon.

sorry moderators for reporting this thread.

Thank you
