Something to think about.
Not asking this in a negative way at all because im pretty picky over one type of mopar but how much of the buyers market reflects most of the posters opinions here? For me, one who is not really hooked on any 68,69 or 70 and simply like them all equally would have interest in this car based on my post above. For the price asked ones who have that kind of money to toss around whats another 25% on a car that will sit most the time?
If I were a buyer of this car resale value would have zero to do with it as well. Its rare for me to sell anything?
Just like the mopar parts flipping world.... ya know where 90% of my best deals come from on some of even the most rare parts????? Non mopar guys just trying to sell parts.
So what gives?

Supposedly the sticking point is it’s a 200k resto. That may be, but you can spend 200k on a pinto and it’s still only worth what the best pinto for that year is worth.

I often wonder how you could spend 200k on a restoration. Knowing all the time you would NEVER get that kind of money back out of it on its best day. One would think someone who could afford to spend that can of money would be smarter than that .. I did a ground up on a 68 Charger RT, 440 4spd a few years back and all in done the man was in it for right about $75k, and that included the buy in for the car.

You have to know that going into the deal. I think the mentality extends to guys who don’t drive their ride. If you aren’t comfortable in driving, it’s because you aren’t comfortable with the dollars involved and/or are worried about the “investment” going south in you. It’s really screwed up the hobby and is a direct reason we don’t see young people getting into these things. It’s not the only one, but that’s a big part of it.

Couple years ago I was given a lead on a car in nky. Total pile for way too much money. Not one useable piece on the car. Would’ve been cool all done though. Turns out the guy has a resto shop I’d never heard of, ever. Made some bold claims about who he works for and what he does, etc. the big thing that sticks with me is he said he gets north of 200k to do a car, more like 250k. Maybe people are out there that will pay that. Doesn’t matter to me what anybody pays, the market sets the price and if somebody wants to drop their dough like that don’t expect me to be the government and bring a bailout package.
