Sweet! Sounds like a fun day all around. Last time I went to an event where there were a bunch of Stockers the racers probably got sick of me asking them a bazillion questions. I always wanted to run a 440-6 Mopar Stocker, but could never make the commitment.
More nostalgia - The first bracket race I ever won was at Woodburn in 1978 w/ my '69 Super Bee 383 4-spd when it was running low 14s.

I'm guessing that there was $500 million worth of tow rigs and cars in the pits at Woodburn this past weekend! Never seen it that full. Lots of big boys on the wester tour heading to Seattle for next weekend. Almost everyone these days is driving a big motorhome towing a car trailer. Bigger teams are all driving class 8 trucks or topkicks. Woodburn isn't really designed for 500 full length trucks! I saw a few heated discussions on Thursday as guys were trying to find spots and get rigs pulled in or back in or turned around. Lots of racers had multiple cars with them and they would jump back and forth between the cars so they had helpers moving cars up in the lanes for them and stuff like that. Everyone doing whatever they can to chase points.

That’s something you don’t see very often. Qualifying shows the white I Stock 56 Corvette driven by Carl Downard of Boise Idaho. The 57 I bought in 63 looked just like that.
July 19th should be "Drive Like Rockford Day". R.I.P. Jimmie.

Damn. I was in town. Had I known Jim Divine was there I’d have went.

That’s something you don’t see very often. I watched him go down the track. Runs hard for a 265 inch engine rated at 225 hp.

I don't think I saw a 440+6 in the group but there was a 340+6 car. I think there were about 50 stockers entered. About an even split between classics and new stuff. There were 4 or 5 COPOs, a few CobraJets and at least one Mopar. The racing was spot on. Lots of 0.005 or lower lights. Lots of guys running right on their numbers. Not an easy crowd to race against. One tiny mistake in that group and you are back on the trailer.
