Just wondering what everyone uses. I have been using 2 moroso 400 watts pads but they are done. Is there a more economical route. 10 liters of oil doesn't heat up very quick with only 400 watts.
Thanks

Have you ever tried a pair of block heaters?

Magnetic heaters work well on a steel pan.

I have a question regarding the stick on type oil heater pads, such as the Wolverine. Can the pad be removed once the oil has been heated, or do they stay stuck on the sump, and you just unplug it before driving?

Moroso sells one that is a pad that is held on by springs but my thinking is it would not make as good of a contact with the pan to transfer the heat but I don't know anyone that has tried one.

I use the morosos one that is just glue to the bottom of the pan. It gets very warm. I have never took the temp gun an checked it though.

If you have the pan off, Moroso has a heater with an element and weld in bung that works excellent. Have them in a couple engines.

The pad with springs is for a dry sump tank.

How about just putting it inside your diaper?

I don't have the pan off but it is not a problem to remove. I looked at the internal element style. Do you just one per oil pan and do you feel they are more efficient than the pads?

I have checked the temperature with a heat gun and on my 400 watt heaters and if I remember correctly they would be around 400 degrees on the bottom of the pad.
