I just got a set of connecting rods in a Mopar buyout. New, no paperwork other than a drawn picture of a rod with specs. Center to center length is 7.107, bushed wrist pin size is 1.092 and the crank size is 2.510. There is a small ink stamp on each rod, but I can't make it out. The rod bolts are heavy duty with a large "keyway" cut into the rod. Any help would be appreciated. WINGNUT

NASCAR Hemi rods. OE. With SPS rod bolts.

Best rod we ever made at Chrysler. Heavy, but good.

Also had them in 6.96 and if I recall correctly 7.17” and 7.35”.

We spun these rods in a A and B/MP Hemi up to 8400 and never hurt the bearings or broke a rod. And that’s with a heavy piston back in the day.

So these rods are Chrysler OE? Will they work in a street 426 HEMI? The reason I ask is the person that bought them planned on putting a HEMI in his car. He purchased assorted engine parts and these were among them. Unfortunately he passed away, so I can't ask him. Are they desire able? Thanks for any input. WINGNUT

They are old tech and worked at the time for what they were designed for.

Much better and lighter options available today and no one see the rods in an engine so the value is negligible.

Requires a shorter piston compression distance, shorter stroke length, or both. $$$

I'd call racetec/autotec about pistons. They'll likely be cheapest making the couple of small changes to the piston you'll need if using that rod length and pin bore size. Hope you find some wrist pins in your haul.

Yes, made by Chrysler. They are heavy but they will last forever. Don’t worry about the weight.

They will fit any RB or Hemi if you use the correct pin location in the piston.

My suggestion is to see if the block you plan to use has been whacked on the decks. Back in the 70’s it was common practice to cut the deck .100”.

Mock it up and calculate your CD required. Then look in your piston stash to see if you have what you need.

I may have pistons that will work for you but I need to know more about your build.

Sure they would work well but ask yourself why go to the expense of building around one outdated part just because you have it only to have a one off high bob weight custom assembly?

Anything can unexpectedly hurt a rod or piston then what?

Unload those puppies and buy a nice set of K1-s or such for your "street" hemi.

Because he has them, if one or more gets wounded, there are plenty out there on the cheap. All else fails, replace them if they get wounded.
Those rods will never fail on their own.

Thanks for the replies. I am not going to use them myself, I will probably sell them. The SPS rod bolts are 7/16. WINGNUT
