having one of these intake sets from a 300F, the only things i'm missing are the carbs and air filter assemblies.
as i understand it, the connecting pieces of each intake that cover the head heat crossover, were randomly cut through the attaching bolt holes with a band saw. this makes each of these pieces unique to each intake.
these pieces need to be used, as not using them stresses the runner at the bolt hole, leading to the intake cracking at that point. not to mention leaving the exhaust crossover exposed.
at one time, [years ago] someone was reproducing these pieces in an "oversize length", so the buyer could trim them to exactly fit fit the manifolds on hand.
the only other solution would be to obtain some aluminum flat bar that is as thick and is as wide as the intake flange, and make sections to fit.
the other item that seems to be missing when these intakes come up for sale, is the throttle and kick down linkage pieces, as well as the bell crank piece.
usable linkage pieces could be made with rod ends and stainless [or plain steel] rod, and the bell crank could be fabricated as well, but the original linkage had a unique shape and method of adjustability that would require skill and the right equipment to duplicate.
the balance tube that is attached with two short pieces of rubber hose at the ends has a very slight bend, and is slightly flattened in the middle for clearance. i have seen attempts to use a piece of the universal "flexible" radiator hose that is easily sourced, but looks bad [in my opinion] when used.
then, what do you do about the exhaust heat that was plumbed to the underside of each carb pad to help keep the intake charge a gaseous mix ?
having seen many bare intakes [without any of the other needed parts] over the years for sale from $750.00 [a VERY long time ago] to $15-1600.00, i haven't seen anyone carrying them off for that price. they may have, but not while i was around.
just my life experience with being around these intakes, and owning a set that is complete, minus carbs and air cleaners. your mileage will vary.
