Previously discussed: restamped engine, pop-riveted dash VIN, trans swapped to 4-speed...

https://www.hemmings.com/auction/1970-plymouth-hemi-cuda-206983/sold

Granted, it's pretty, and maybe runs & drives as it should, but $192,000 ($201,600 w/fees)...

Faked broadcast sheet with it too.

Hopefully the buyer can get his money back & if not, he can sue the seller.

Why? The primary info was disclosed, the seller has a record of the restoration and most likely a known past, and I have to assume that anyone who can lay down $200k probably had someone look at the car before purchase. Let's be honest, this car was not purchased because of it's 'investment grade'; that possibility was eliminated with the restamps and non-original drivetrain. I think it's disingenuous to keep assuming there's 'fraud' involved at every level, and lawsuits are the way to handle disagreements on 'originality'

According to some it can't even be "touched".
Just think: It's attached to a foam/vinyl dash pad, which is only screwed onto a metal frame, which is then bolted onto the car's steel structure.
Seems the automaker made it really easy to "move" it as needed.
So if you remove the dash pad from your car, you broke the law?

Only if you put the VIN tag on another car.

Now now, don’t spoil the vin swappers spin to make themselves feel better. Taking things way away from reality to distract from what they are doing.

I want my fair share
