70 Challenger

Bought new front window cranks and the plastic spacer that goes behind them.
These repos are 1/2 the thickness of what’s on the car now.
There’s a big gap and they spin sloppy?

What am I missing, seems all vendors show same part for all B&E bodies?
Is this another case of a crappy universal repo part?

When purchasing the window crank with spacers for the rear quarter glass windows, you must select the body style. The 70-74 Cuda quarter glass window cranks use a 1/2 inch thick spacer, the 70-74 Challenger rear quarter glass window crank spacers are 1/4 inch thick and the 67-70 B-bodies use the same spacer for both the front and rear glass and it is approximately 1/8 inch thick. The 62 to 66 A&B-bodies use a really thin spacer. The front door glass window crank spacers for the E-Body applications is the same as the 67 and up A, B and C-Body applications. The correct spacers can be purchased by themselves if you need just that piece.

I believe 70 Challengers also had a spring behind the panel (Picture from Alaskan_TA)

Should the front panel have the spring?

Here's a pic with the thick spacer, it seems right.
If not, curious what application they are for.

It looks like all the vendors are selling the thin spacers, probably cost less.
I found this, same description, but thicker.

I just wanted to see if we can clear things up with the spacers. The parts book shows the 231 part number correct for the front and rear for Challengers in '70. 'Cudas got that up front too. That's the thinnest one.
The '71s and I believe newer got the 232s. That's the next step up in thickness and you can see the pic of that in this thread too. And lastly 'Cudas got the 870 extra thick ones for the rear. And also the springs definitely makes a difference in spacing for the rears. Without them the 'Cuda thick ones will fit on a Challenger rear.

Thx for the info, good to know there are 3 different spacers.
Looks like the middle 1 is harder to find. All the aftermarket seem to be thin or thick.

NP. Those spacers you have pictured above my parts# post are the middle sized ones.
