So I noticed my 727 is puking a little fluid out of the vent during a run. It does have a transbrake (Turbo Action pro brake) and the vent is relocated to the top rear of the case at about the 11:00 position when looking at it from the rear. Why is it doing this? Is it overfull? Should I install a breather tank? Just remove the vent and put a different fitting in the case plumbed to a catch can? Should I do it in -4an or -6an line? Any particular catch can yall would recommend? I found this one earlier... https://allstarperformance.com/mini-breather-tank-panel-mount-all36142/Any other suggestions? Thanks Next time it’s apart, use a A518 overdrive retainer gasket cut down, and punched for the holes, between the output shaft support and the case. Hot cross leak from the return flow, charging the vent cavity. You’re welcome.

I put my vent in the tail shaft housing and have never seen a drop out of it. I did make a little shield to go inside over the hole so the park gear can't sling oil on it. That is a good point, maybe Chip's vents a little bit when he stands that big hemi powered beast up on the bumper for several hundred feet!

8sec...how did you make out with the trany leaking?
My trany still has the vent in the front of the pump so I too have some fluid dripping out the bellhousing now and then. Trying to figure out why too. I haven't had the car back out since. Probably won't run it again until some time in the fall. I have a few things to change before I run it again anyway.

I would check dipstick calibration. I cut out a section of the webbing under the rear support so oil can’t fill up in that area, also I plugged the oil feed hole in the end of the park paw. Stopped the small amount oil out my vent. Chip, if it wasn't doing it before, the new vent location may be just fine. FWIW, I ran the rear vent relocation also, and had no fluid coming out the vent. I did grind a little extra drainage in two locations on the rib below the new vent. But that rib should not seal to the gasket or the rear support (as cast), but I did add drainage so no fluid could accumulate in that cavity. In my old race car, I found the 727 could be sensitive to a fluid level too low. Possibly due to fluid aeration if the bottom of the valve body is not covered. So go gently trying to reduce fluid level. If ET/mph drops, the trans could be aerating the fluid. It seemed strange at first, since the deep pan and filter extension will pull fluid from very low, no matter what the level.

That’s what I did on my case which looks like the one John Kunkel posted on the tail shaft removal post.I removed the webbing on the left side of that casting hump. No leaky.
