We'll be there Friday.

Not sure whether well be in my Challenger SRT or the wife's Charger Daytona since we're trying to put some miles on the new 6.4 stroker motor in it.

Saturday there's a cruise in Pacific MO where they shut down the main street and only the car show cars are allowed in which is always the same weekend anymore.
Most of our friends go to it so this year we'll go to Pacific on Saturday.

It's a lot of the same women that were there in 1984 so most people would prefer not to see them flash anything. laugh2

The last time I went was in the late 80's. You couldn't walk around with your wife without a bunch of drunk jacka$$es harassing you. Haven't been back since.

That part of it has died off, it's a much mellower atmosphere.

Let's face it, for the most part it's an older crowd.

There are some younger people, but they're outnumbered by the the older ones.
Most young people spend their time staring at their phone and avoid face to face interaction.

I have not been since the mid 90's but used to be a ritual for us every year.

Spent Friday afternoon there. Was nice, wasn't too hot and had a nice breeze all day. Attendance was light, in my opinion. Even for a Friday. There was quite a bit of talk that there was a 'barn find' original HemiCuda there but I didn't get to check it out. I heard several complaints on some of the food.

Today (Saturday) is supposed to be much hotter. And more humid. They are calling for a good chance of rain on Sunday.

Was looking for shows to go to this summer. It seems to be the same story lately on attendance at car shows. Was hoping to hear foot traffic would have been packed. Not sure if it is post pandemic related or just people loosing interest.

I agree that I thought it was a light crowd.

There were only a few vendors there (even food wise), personally I think that the promoter has gotten to where they charge too much for it to be profitable for the vendors to make a profit without charging more than people will pay.

A soda is $8 which is crazy.

The crowd seemed solid for a few hours today. But tapered off pretty quickly by early afternoon. Lots more cars and trucks today than yesterday. Not much really as far as our old cars. Mostly newer stuff, whacked out stuff, lifted trucks, and quite a few of those 'blower mafia' cars driving around.

I asked one guy that I knew that came by; where you parked at? He said by the blue Chevelle. I asked which one, there were so many. devil

We had a good time. But it is clearly changing and declining. At least in my opinion. But then, what isn't?
