Is there a way to see if the radio works?

Thanks, Don

Buy or use a (the) car antenna and hook it up to the car's battery and use a know working car speaker. You can just buy the cheap antenna and cheap car speaker at the local chain auto parts stores, or even a Walmart if you don't have known working items at home. Should be easy to bench test with a 12v source an antenna and a known good speaker.

You don’t need an antennae. I always bench tested by sticking a 3 -6 foot 16 or 14 Awg wire in the antennae plug and ground the radio.
