Hi All
I'm running a 440, 509 cam , big valve heads and 17/8 headers. I'm using a mancini distributer (factory-set performance advance curve).
My question is do you hook up the vacuum advance to ported vacuum . Or just run it with out the vacuum advance hooked up. Swear
I have heard not to hook up the vacuum advance. Please help not sure. Thanks for your help.

if it's a street car i would definitely run the vacuum advance hooked to the ported nipple. some of those distributors have fairly slow curves for a cammed up engine.

Neil, why don't you try it both ways and see which one you like the best work twocents
I've ran my street cars both ways and didn't see a big difference in performance or fuel mileage. I do recurve all my stock and race distributors with mechanical advance (14 to 18 degrees BTDC and 34 max BTDC above 1500 RPM) but I'm a drag racer and like speed and rapid acceleration so maybe my input is not valid devil whistling smile

Thank you for your answers . I have the vacuum hooked up for now. I will try it with no vacuum
