HIGHLY doubtful. There is just too much red tape these days. I won't get in to the details, but it's a real pain to legally GIVE SOMETHING AWAY!! Even when I was doing the engines (THANK YOU Muscle Motors!!!), we had to have bonds in NY and FL totaling $12,000. Yup, that's $12K tied up for months. Believe me, I would LOVE to bring them back, but it's highly unlikely Ed B

People were kinda snotty about the last few giveaway cars, too. "A four-door Fury? Ecch." "They gave away a Six-Pack Super Bee one year, what's with the six-cylinder Scamp?" It's a free car, dude.

YUP!!! I heard it all. I had the '69 Fury convertible one year that people complained about like crazy! Yes, it was wavy!! But it was solid and drove great!! Someone just did crappy body work on it. I drove that car a bunch. It would roll at 75 mph and go perfectly straight down the road. Putting it on the stage really exaggerated the waviness because it put the car above eye level. On the ground, it was very presentable. Several people said if they won it, they were going to give it to me. Heck yeah!!! I would've driven it as-is and if it really started to bother me, I was going to block it and respray it. Ed B

Their first giveaway car was a Superbird, the second one was a 69 Hemi Coronet R/T,the third one was the A12 Superbee, the fourth one was a 70 Plum Crazy Challenger 318 survivor car with 4k original miles on it. The following year was a 73 Road Runner, after that the the cars became much less desirable. People stayed until the end of the day on Sunday for the giveaway, now the show is over on Saturday.

I was saying it'd be cool if I won it because then I'd have a '67, a '68 and a '69. The black Superbird giveaway was the first time I ever went to Carlisle. No navigation, no map, got to the fairgrounds late in the day. At the gate, they were like "It's almost over!" I said, "I don't care, I just wanna get a chance on the Superbird!"

The black Superbird giveaway was the first time I ever went to Carlisle. Black? Well the one i remember was blue. When they read off the #'s the lady that had the winning ticket didn't even know witch car it was. Her husband bough like 2-3 other cars there and was wondering how they where going to get it home.

Yes! I was here for that. It was definitely black (but I think it was an EW1 white car originally). Remember the crowd BOOED her when she said that? FYI, the black Superbird was NOT a giveaway at Chrysler. That was Summer Carlisle. True story - I was a kid working at Cole's Bicycles in Carlisle when a guy came in to get his bike worked on. He asked who owned the lime green Dart in the employee lot (it was mine) and we struck up a conversation. Carlisle had always given away 3 "common" muscle cars at Summer Carlisle (Ford, GM and Chrysler). He told me that Carlisle was thinking of giving away one high dollar car rather than 3. He wanted to know what one car I would want most if they went that route. I said that was easy, a Superbird. He came back in a couple of days later to pick up his bike and told me they found a Superbird that they were buying. I thought that was pretty cool!! Ed B

A good Mopar buddy of mine just died last year, still had the 67 Barracuda he won at the Mopar Nationals! Ed, did you ever keep track of where the cars that were won at Carlisle ended up?
