Just wondering what seems to be the going hourly rate for fabrication in your area. Just to get some type of baseline, professional shops with seasoned pros would be top dollar so more in the line of the shop across town does a good job at building/fixing things.

Around here it must be a huge charge, there are no such shops that will fix messed up stuff that needs almost any custom fabrication as a general repair. There are no shops around here that would replace a rusty motor cradle on any vehicle more then 3 or 4 years old, and it might be hard to find one that would do it then.

There are a couple rod shops that will attach new products to your old car or truck, but don't expect them to fix anything if the new part doesn't simply fit and weld into place. Those places around here are in the $140/ hour range, but they are very picky on what they want to work on.

The nearest fabrication shop that might build you something custom from bar stock or sheet steel is over $200/hour, but they would rather sell you something generic some jobber shop makes 100s of, if they can.
