I am building my first aluminum big block and I just found out that my solid roller lifters will not work.
The lifters I ran in my stock cast iron block are tall enough but. The tie bar hits the casting for the HEMI head studs.
So I am looking for new lifters. What have worked for you guys? Part numbers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Digger73 (Mike)

You got a pic of this? I'm struggling to understand how it would touch from down in the valley.

Yes what do you have now? Not possible to flip them so the tie bar is inboard?

The tie bar hits the casting where if the block were for a HEMI the head studs would go.

Can you grind a little clearance in those bosses?

I am not sure? I even considered grinding the clearance in the tie bars. But I wasn't sure if that would make the tie bars too weak.

Maybe you could grind a little on the boss and a little on the tie bar. Welcome to the world of building engines with aftermarket parts.

I don't know the brand. I bought the lifters from a member here years ago and I don't think they ever told me. frown

I have a feeling that is just what I am going to wind up doing. I never would have thought that my lifters would be such a huge stumbling block.

I agree, the ones I've seen have a vertical link bar facing the centre of the valley ??

You wouldn't happen to have a recommendation for lifters that would work with the World aluminum block?
The lifter bosses are taller than a stock block and that is where I am having problems. The lifters I have, the tie bars are keeping the lifters from making contact with the cam lobes.
There has to be a solid roller that will work with this block?

Any of Comp Cams current .904 solid roller are made for the newer taller lifter bore blocks, iron or aluminum.
I would call them to get the correct ones for your aluminum block, I think that the chrome ones were correct for any and all aluminum blocks scope confused
