Looking for an intake manifold tuning valve for a 4.0 (2008) but everything listed says its for a 2.7 or 3.5. Do the interchange?

Wow, I had never read about the 4.0V6 technical specs.
Looks like a “hot mess” engine.

They are gouging on the last remaining new valves in inventory.

I wonder about new rubber 4.0 timing belts price & availability too.

Alpar says the 4.0 intake manifold is a “new low rumble” design change compared to the 3.5
so odds are against the valve for the 3.5 being identical.

Looks like you need to visit the salvage yards to look at 2.7/3.5 valves to see for yourself.

I cannot help but remember that Ford had a valve to switch intake runner length,
and then were surprised to find the valve could be left off,
and the airflow “could choose for itself”
the lower resistance path to flow through,
and the Torque curve of the engine improved without the valve.

Personally I wonder about the
4.0V6 “tuned equal length dual exhaust”
and what engineering principles it might reveal?

Is there something special about exactly 3.58 inch stroke, science wise ?
Harmonics, perhaps?

Doesn't seem that they will interchange with other engines. What is the trouble with yours? Is it setting a fault code?

I'd call but I doubt they have one. Partsvoice shows no listings.

Water got into the plug and 2 pins corroded completely.

This won't help, but my wife wanted a Pacifica back in 2006. We drove a 3.5L model and I thought it was a lama compared to other cars in the market. We waited. Chrysler announced a new 4.0L V6 for the 2007 model. It's basically a 3.5 with more stroke I believe. We bought a touring model and loved the it and the 4.0 under the hood. Yes, it is a timing belt engine. The only issue we had was the EGR valve. Other than that, 10 trouble free years, 140K miles. No issues with the timing valve.

If your valve is non-working due to those corroded pins consider using a dremel tool or drill to slowly and carefully grind into the plastic and expose the wires, then apply voltage to see if the valve motor mechanism still operates. If so connect the wires using other plugs from an auto parts store.

It might even be possible to clean up any remaining nib of the corroded pins still visible in the original plug with DeOxit spray and then connect wires with either special low temperature solder or electrically conductive epoxy glue.

Sometimes very small brass wood screws can be screwed into hollow plug pins if they are hollow inside.

Well I replaced the tuning valve with one from a 3.5. The part was an exact match. Error code went away and the car runs great!!
