I've got a question regarding the shifting on the earlier 545 transmissions. I'm just wondering if the Daimler Chrysler made the 545 shift softer as time went on? My transmission seems to shift soft somewhat. I believe Chrysler made changes to the transmission in 2006 which I think the transmission in my current application came out of a 2006 2wd Durango being ran by an 2004 Ram PCM. It seems to shift softer and sooner than the one I had in my 2004 Ram 1500 4x4 with 3.55 gears. I do have to wonder if the solenoid pack is different from 2004 to 2006 which might make a difference? I've also heard the later transmissions had a sooner lockup programmed in for fuel economy purposes. I realize there is a "white plug" solenoid pack and a "gray plug" solenoid pack. Thank you in advance.
