I have a 1978 Dodge P/up (a lil red wannabe) with a 70's 400 engine. The previous owner installed a set of headers and mickey moused a dipstick into the side of the oil pan! Can anyone tell me were the original location is?

thanks Ian

Doesn't matter , trucks used a different pan than a car , the block location is for a car pan which is center sump , the trucks have a rear sump pan so the dipstick has to be back there , in the side of the pan . There was not a seperate truck block ...
