Can someone give me the dimensions for placing the door Road Runner emblems.I need the locations for the Road Runner emblem itself not the bird.
I also need the locations for the emblems on the trunk for a car without the finish panel and with a Hemi engine. From what I have been told there is a Plymouth emblem, a Road Runner emblem like on the doors, a Road Runner bird sticker and a small Hemi emblem also.
Can someone please confirm that this is true and give me actual dimensions on where they all go?

This is from upper horizontal edge (that you can just see in the above photo) to the front emblem hole:

C = 3-1/2"

From upper horizontal edge (that you can just see in the above photo) to the rear emblem hole:

D = 3-5/8"

Let's try this a little differently:

B dimension = 4-11/16"

B = 4-11/16"

and now I give you the bird......oops that doesn't sound right


It is about the width of the inside area of the metal emblem or about the width of the letters "oa" of the word road and in line with the bottom edge of the emblem straight between the "toes" of the road runner's foot. If that makes sense you have problems too I've looked at lots of '68 rr door birds and they vary a quarter inch more or less but the photo is an original and a decent location example IMO.

Sorry for the upside down tape measure, I couldn't hold the tape measure steady and push the shutter button holding it in my right hand and the camera in the left hand It also worked better by hooking the tape measure onto the trunk lid edge for a better reference/measurement too: (save the photo and rotate it or turn your monitor upside down )

first this then the trunk lid with the wrong bird and PLYMOUTH emblem holes:

It's about 1-inch from the top of the road runner emblem to the trunk lid body line or 3/8" from the bottom of the emblen to the body line:

don't remember but I think the rr emblem pins are in the center of the backside of the emblem so that would be 11/16" up from the trunk line to the hole center....

now the rr trunk lid with the incorrect "door" rr bird...but note even though the rr emblem is crooked it is still 2-1/2" in from the trunk lid edge and 3/8" up from the body line......well at some point it's 3/8th of an inch up
