Possible factor: foundries want to run 1,000 blocks, not 100. For a short run the cost would exceed any sale price.

Since Covid. Several foundries have closed. Even with Dart it takes us over 6 months to receive blocks and head castings, and we usually order 100 at a time and 200 head castings at a time. They trickle in as they get them machined or if we need sooner, we just accept the raw castings and machine them ourselves when needed.

Foundry capacity isn't the issue. The issue is that the people who want a Mopar block don't have the money to make it happen. If the money was there then the blocks would be there.

If this is true where are all the leftover blocks at?

GM was getting them done in the UK at one point, I have also read that Caterpillar has done it for them as well. Pro Stock blocks are CGI, so they're going to be done at a more specialist foundry.

I don't think Mopar people is cheap.

The problem is all the horror stories the last ten years about people who have put down a deposit on blocks that never show up....... and if they got a block is has all possible defect and in worst case you ended up with new expensive boat anchor.

I want a cast iron B-block with:
# 4.500 bore
# RB mains
# Stock motor mounts

You are absolutely right. It took me 18 months to get my KB block. If not for Todd Marsh I'd probably still be waiting.. While there were no surprise's the constant BS from KB got old.
