I have this kit shown in the picture but it's not really what I need primarily because my battery is located in the trunk so my hot cable comes in from the front side of the starter.
What is everyone using to safely relocate these terminals so that the cables are safely away from each other and also the engine block ?

Just ground the studs down a bit to make them shorter. After that they cleared the block fine on my 440 with headers.

That adapter is a cool piece. But those studs are WAY longer than they need to be, for example.

I need the stud length because I have power feed from the trunk going to starter then one feed from starter to my relay. Once I had it all bolted up i stuck a pry bar in there and bent it down a little for clearance
On the trigger wire, I turned the pole upside down which means I had to tighten the nut from the bottom, but it seems fine I may not ever be satisfied with how it looks but as long as it's tight I'll probably just leave it as is

I don't know if there is a variance between manufacturers buy a few of the new starters that I have owned had a bolt on extension. I simply removed it since the extensions are what made contact with the block. The terminals are then directly on the starter body itself.

Powermaster makes a version with the lug positions swapped (large lug farther away from block). This really helped me when using with a MP 4.5" bore RB block. High torque (they're kinda proud of em though).
Not sure if that helps your situation, but thought I'd chime in.

Stop the power feed at he firewall with this bulkhead. Then all power can come from it instead of the starter. Much easier and cleaner connection at the starter. Look by the column in the pic.

The starter draws the most amps when spinning the motor over so make sure you're feeding it with a big enough cable to not restrict the current flow work
I like and use #2 gauge to the starter from the battery. up

i agree with Cab. don't skimp on cable size.
also, if making up a cable, use quality ends that you can positively [biggrin] ensure are connected to the cable well.
and above all, do NOT use those [temporary] "bolt on" battery terminal ends !
