I would sell the 8:71 to a BB Chevy guy and buy a new 10:71 for your motor work up
The bigger the blower the less RPM you need to turn it to make pressure, the higher you spin the blower the higher the inlet temps will get , IE a 8.71 making 7.0 lbs. of pressure may have a manifold inlet temps. of 180F +, the 10:71 making the same pressure at less blower RPM will have120 to 140 F inlet temps, which can make 50 to 100 HP more at the crankshaft differences. These are examples, not actual results due to the size of the motor, camshaft and induction system type (carbs, EFI, Bug catcher or whatever) feeding the blower differences work

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

How much power are you looking for? Cam is a tad off but not enough to warrant buying another one unless it's going to be on kill?

I have a similar motor I am going to order an 871 blower for and run on E85 with carbs this summer.....But I cannot answer your question yet. My engine supposedly made 1200hp at around 20-22psi with an 871 on it.....I can hunt down the cam card if you want to compare...

I was going to put a Hemi in it, but I scored this little engine to get a jump start on it....

I just tested some underdrive to 10%UD and was getting 12# boost on my 446" .630 lift roller on ported Victor heads so that may be a starting point with and 8-71 for you.

some points of interest for me are low lift # on the cam .020 to .050 and seated lifter dur.Valve spring psi..300" to .600" port flow #s,compression ratio, valve pocket depth, piston to deck ht.exh header tube size. like some have said sure that cam will get you going after you check all putting it in.
