Is there a paint that mimics the original plating on the heater blower motor on the passenger firewall of EBody?

Satin black as I recall. I don't know of a spec for it. Napa sold an under hood black that would probably work as would just about any other satin black spray bomb beer

I've had good luck with Eastwood brand sprays. This is the Cad Silver used on my blower motor for a factory ac car
It is what it is, not plating quality but good enough for my car's desired outcome. Disassembled, cleaned, and used an etching primer.

A/C or non A/C? It depends on what year you are talking about too. 70-72 non A/C were silver zinc plated. 73 and I think 74 were painted gloss black.

I wonder why they went to painting later on.
Weren't they also plated before painting?
Or was it for cosmetic reasons?

Likely cheaper to paint than plate. I doubt they would have done both and i would also doubt they were concerned about cosmetics. They were just cars and it was under the hood. it was also a time that the overall quality was slipping while they were laughing at the Japanese. OOOPPPSSS!!
