Can this regulator be ran with a Prestolite dual point distributor?

yes, no problem there. in actuality it should work better than the mechanical VR as the V should be more constant. FYI You can also get Electronic versions that look like the originals beer

EDIT: Sorry I ASSumed spank when I saw it it was the earlier version that maintained 14V. The new version says 13.5 which IMO is a bit low. Interesting that they did not change the part # beer

The difference between the constant voltage regulator and a stock regulator is that the constant one does not compensate for temperature. Ok on a race car that doesn't spend a lot of time charging, but not so ok for a street car, it will lessen your battery life.

I remember when I bought one of those from Direct Connection back in 1978 they recommended that it NOT be used on the street but didn't say why, I guess I know now, thanks! up

The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.

HMM, I seem to remember it be recommended with the electronic ignition conversion kits back in the mid 70's or so ?
I know I ran them on more than 1 street car with no known issues shruggy beer

AHA, my RAM is still intact, FROM THE BBODIES FORUM LINKY

I do note that the instructions (earlier version) say it will maintain a constant 14V whereas the new version of the same part # says 13.5
shruggy shruggy (double shruggy/dunno)
