I now put a 120 amp fuse at the alternator and one at the battery. Forget size but I think it’s a 300 amp or so. Protects against these types of conditions. Just not on the starter cable? I need all the amps I can get for the starter. So I did use a 300 amp on the main cable. Interesting. I always figured the starters used more than 300 amps but I never did the math so it was just an assumption. Are you using the stock OEM starter or a newer design starter?

Are you using the stock OEM starter or a newer design starter?
I use the newer Mopar style starters. I never saw 300 amps when I took amp measurements. 250 ish yes, but never saw 300.
