Not a ton of progress, but even minor progress is moving forward....So my new 400/512 pump gas bracket motor got new ball on ball 3/8" diameter push rods to go with the new T&D rockers & Morrel lifters....Miliodon oil pump showed up and we can steel a few parts off the Hemi to complete it.....The cam in this thing should sound like a beast....Can't wait to see how this little beast runs......Only thing left, is to finish fitting the valvetrain, the oiling system, the brass distributor gear, and a Carb or two....Kinda sucks that i will have to wait so long before we know if it makes more steam than the last one.... According to this website, a 9.42 at 3000lbs is 830hp from the last motor, is that correct? http://www.moparts.org/Tech/tech/index.html

as i have never "de-horned" a carb, i was wondering how many passes it took you to do that ? just a curiosity question from an accomplished machinist. I did not count them, but I was happy when it was done. I used a tall roughing mill and touched off on the full depth and hit it .050" at a time...Somtimes .100" per pass....So I ran it full depth for each pass. Yesterday I finished up the second carb, now I am going to work on the motor plate to get the engine lower in the car. Love all the pics and seeing what you've got going on, thanks for posting.....bummed to hear about the Hemi problems.
Thanks, I will try to post updates when I have stuff worth posting....You owe me a little lesson on door skinning, loved seeing how you did that.....I have two to do this winter, and would love to get it right the first time....Might have some cool Hemi updates after this weekend.

Pulled the spare Hemi block and heads and trans out of the car...attached the blower motor to my spare trans, and all set in the car. Switched from stamped timing cover to a cast one and I kept cutting the plate down until the motor sat level in the car......It needs an oiling system, a blower intake, and a blower, plus some incidentals....Car needs a lot.....Ready for Zoomies now!

New 512 is pretty much done and ready to go in the Duster.....But the Duster needs a ton of re-wiring and the hood needs TLC....Stole the oil pump and cover off the Hemi and it just needs primed and its ready....Still need a carb, but I think I am going to put my only 4500 1250 on it to start with....
