I'm in the middle of buying the parts needed to build a 551 C.I. BB Mopar wedge motor with a set of B1-MC heads using a Holley Dominator EFI system with a Vortech V30-123A crank driven super charger using E85 fuel. Any help on this will be greatly appreciated, such as what parts are good and which parts to stay away from. I'll buy and use either a Jesel paired shaft rocker arm system or a similar set up from T.D. B1-MC heads prep by CFE, Hogan custom made EFI intake with dual injectors per cylinder, Weldon crank driven mechanical fuel pump, dual line external oiling system, maybe dry sump oiling system later Koleno high nickel cast iron block, 4.5 bore x 4.375 stroke Bryant full counter balanced crank, rods and pistons type and brand to be determine in the near future. All help is appreciated, I liked to get this right the first time THANKS

I'm running a Procharger on my car. Looks like you have a good foundation but I have mixed feelings on using Hogans for a forced induction set up due to some bad experiences some friends had on a turbo combo. I think N/A carbureted combos are their strength. Some other general comments: If you haven't bought your ignition system yet just go straight to individual coils and let the dominator control everything. Make sure the rest of the car and driveline from the flywheel back is ready because you'll be making a ton of power. One more thing - anything you buy that you might need support with in the future - like the converter, shocks, EFI, the blower etc. - buy it from someone that has done this before and will provide some service after the sale. Don't get those parts from a Jegs or Summit kind of place or shop by price. Pay a little extra for a part from an experienced seller and you'll buy their wisdom too.

All the aluminum blocks that I have had friends' race that had both aluminum and aftermarket race cast iron block made more power and went faster and lasted longer on the ring sealing with the iron blocks versus using the aluminum block motor with the same combination of parts I really wish that Dart, World or Bill Mitchell would have Mopar wedge and hemi block made out of compact graphite iron blocks made here in the U.S.A. Compact Graphite Iron is a lot stronger than regular cast grey iron I've been told that the high nickel iron blocks are stronger than the cast grey iron blocks are, I wish I could buy several more Koleno high nickel race wedge blocks: luck: Hopefully soon Jeff, I'm hoping to start out with a 2000 HP combination by turning the speed down on the super charger to start with and manage the pressures with the help of two blow off valves set for 30. LBs or less. I'm new to the racing a supercharge car, let alone on E85. Vortech says that V30-123A is capable of 2700 to 2800 HP at 45PSI flowing 4000 CFM. When I ask about the C.I. having a effect on the power, they said nothing This whole deal on no prep heads up drag racing is all new to me At 77 yrs. old maybe I should take up golfing or some other less strenuous sport on my time and pocketbook I do have another motor on NOS to start sorting the new car out with before throwing the kitchen sink at it It is a KB aluminum wedge block 572 C.I. 14.5 to 1 compression ratio with a sheet metal tunnel ram intake with two Mark Sullens E85 Domintors with two kits on it, one spray bar kit with jetting for 150 HP and another Induction Solution perimeter plate capable of 500 HP with a controller for both kits. Two plates under both carbs: luck: Thanks to all of you that have pitch in on this: up:

I have a mega block with a screw charger and am afraid to turn up the boost because machine shop told me my mega block will break if I turn it up despite having thick cylinders.. they think my mega block is the weak link.
Thanks Jeff
I guess we all have opinions. I personally think the mega block would hold a whole lot of power.
