Hey all,
Hoping you can help me ID this transmission - supposed to be a 727 behind a small block. I can't seem to cross this number anywhere on the google...PK282931 7L 2540 0706

Also, the 2540 is the “ten thousand day” date code i think And the 0706 should be the unit number of the day “i think”

None of my sources show a 2829xxx, the numbers jump from 2801xxx to 2892xxx. Build date is early '69...timing hole is SB truck or van.

2829317 first appeared as a production trans for the compact truck (A100/108) in 1967. It also appears as a production unit under the same p/n for 1968
The date code means one thing and only one thing - when the unit was made, not what model year it fits.
Looking at 2540 date code that is July 11, 1968. Tight but it could have been installed in a 1968 vehicle.
Could be a service unit for a warranty replacement back then.
