I've never heard of any Brown hood latches on any year Mopar's, always black work scope

I'm not sure who the new go to guy is going to be but those finishes were absolutely correct and an art.

Maybe Mike Mancini or Mike from BEA would know who to use.

I would try your local plating shop. The yellow chromate comes in different thicknesses (service conditions) and colors, yellow to olive drab.

I second the suggestion to contact Mike Ross at BE&A. He would know the exact color and finish for the latches in question.

I’m pretty sure I got some of the last restored sets of parts from Jules before he passed away…May he continue to Rest In Peace…as he called me to re-assure me that my parts would be done and shipped… he was just having to take time off to recover from some of his treatments…of course I said whatever you need Jules. The parts pictured that Nicklas posted look exactly as I received from Jules, and have been told by friends who worked for Chrysler back in the day these cars were built and delivered looked. Mike Ross or maybe Mike Mancini are the names that come to mind for this type of OE work now…

Jules did mine in BROWN zinc chromate in 2011.

Google 'brown chromate" and you will get plenty of hits. "Chromate coatings vary in color from bright yellows to dark browns", https://www.swplating.com/platings/chromate-conversion/

Photo shows my hood latch in factory brown chromate before Jules re-did it with new brown chromate.

I think BME Bill Meerholz Enterprizes is getting into this finish process.

Did you ever find someone doing the brown zinc finish? I also need my hood latches done and can't find anyone.

Thanks
Dave
