I shipped my weirdo one off intake to Wilson to see if they could help.
It was a good match for my turbo 440 but is the wrong piece for the mild 541.
Keith Wilson and his lead designer determined that I would be better off with a ported efi converted RPM manifold.

It is the fairly obvious choice for this combo. The molded tunnel ram went on because it is what I had.

The boys at Wilson have the entire intake combo so they'll be able to drop my mock up injectors and fuel rails on the new intake and mate it with a low profile 4 bbl style throttle body to help maintain hood clearance.

My age-old tunnel ram wannabe that became synonymous with my TT440 is destined for retirement. Dunno what's going to happen to it but the Imperial will be running a far more conservative induction system. That will make my job far easier when the car goes back together.

Yes, Mr Porter, I'll go back to the same dyno for another round and we'll have numbers to compare. We'll, that assumes he'll let me back on his dyno after the previous experience.

What exact manifold (part no?) are they talking about? I thought the Edelbrock Performer RPM was a dual plane intake, and EFI prefers single plane?

I would assume this one woudl be a goodoption, except fr the hood clearance thing smile But a nice profiled cut around the intake for the tank might be cool smile

He is Port EFI and the questioning around EFI and Dual planes is around the Throttle body style injection that injects the fuel above the intake manifold.

They stole your idea and cast it in aluminum!!! The Ba$tard$ wink

But I like that EFI manifold ... I bought the one AndyF had when he was cleaning out his inventory. Not sure what I'll ever use it on but it will be some type of forced induction. I have a nice set of ported Stage VI heads. I was thinking about putting those on a 400 block and screwing the Eddy EFI ProFlow on top. A real Frankenstein Motor.

As long as it's not 105F outside, we will be good. LOL

You're just glad we won't have to rig the throttle with a piece of wire. biggrin

I assume the different intake and throttle body will require a different tune?

I'm assuming the tune will be different.
We'll have to reset the values for the IAT, IAC, and TPS at a minimum. The software will have to tell us what it wants after that.

I kinda surprised Brian at Wilson. He had my intake in his hands when I called. In our discussion he started to touch on fluid dynamics and was caught off guard when I was able to run down that rabbit hole with him. biggrin

I think the Holley Dominator is the lowest profile intake so you might talk to Wilson about using the Dominator rather than an RPM. Just an idea.

Actually if you measure total height of a typical aftermarket intake manifold plus carb plus air cleaner the Edelbrock ram intake is comparable. The ram intake fits under a flat hood in an E body car. The problem with the ram intake is that nothing else fits. Throttle cables don't fit, No off the shelf air cleaner assembly, You can't use it with AC, etc. I have some EFI customers with those intakes and nobody is really happy with them. It is just too much of a reach for most Mopar guys to go in that direction by themselves and the aftermarket isn't really helping.
