Just got my 46r back in the van, trying to find source of shudder. Thought it was rear brakes, no, then posi clutches, so replaced limited slip oil. I can back up maybe 40 ft, then pulling forward it shudders-slips, not drastic but like something’s slipping and grabbing then it goes away. Could it be in the trans? I just got it back in AGAIN, I’m stumped, any ideas?

With no obstructions in front of the vehicle, place the trans in D or 1 then brake with your left foot while you increase the throttle. Does the rpm run away or does it try to stall?

I’ll try that thanks John

No stall just digs a hole with tires against the brake. Drive or low the same. I’d say 1800 before it turns the tires against the brake

Is the engine rpm flaring when it is "shuddering"? If not, it sounds like a transmission mount.
