From Competition Plus...

"Word has it Jegs Mail Order has opted out of Pro Stock for 2023, sending Troy Coughlin Jr., looking for new sponsorship. Greenbriar Equity Group, a middle-market private equity firm, acquired a majority position in JEGS Automotive, back in February of this year. With this development, one has to wonder if the Jegs All-Stars program could be on the chopping block since it was the brainchild of Scott Woodruff, who left the company back in July."

Gotta love PE takeovers.

If I had to guess since Jegs sold the new owners don't see it beneficial to their financial success to keep on funding the car. I'm sure it's either not in the budget or they rather use that money elsewhere. It makes a difference when your family no longer calls the shots for the business I'm sure.

When Scott left I feared this sort of thing would be coming.

Does anyone know how long Jeg's contract (assuming there is one) for the Jeg's Allstars runs?

I can see where PS may not be a good return on investment for Jeg's management.
But Allstars would seem to be a good, if not critical, fit.
I'd bet bracket & class racers are more frequent customers and a much larger customer base than the PS teams.
I don't know what the "halo effect" is for a PS car, and maybe the new FS class will become the new PS class, and Jeg's is pulling the trigger early ?
Anderson's car has been wearing the Hendrick livery instead of Summit's, but I didn't give it much thought until now.

Right? I'm surprised they didn't work a guaranteed sponsorship in to deal if he wanted to continue

the latest victim woudl be MGP rods which was gobbled up by Race Winning Brands after Michaels passing. The family wanted noting to do with it and they are having some real issues with the product now, dont ask me how I know.

I figured once the Coughlin's sold it the sponsorships days would be numbered....

With the expense involved in a competitive program you almost have to have money to burn to do it.

They have a fleet. Bunch of guys getting help as well. Involved in big money brackets. Maybe it's just the Pro Stock program going away. That's not cheap.
