WOW CHRIS "THE GOLDEN GREEK" KARAMESINES SHOWED UP AND MADE THE SHOW #15 SPOT AT THE MIDWEST NATS 70+ YRARS OLD.

HE RED LIGHTED IN THE 1ST ROUND, I WAS PULLING FOR HIM, WISH HE COULD HAVE SHOWED THE "BIG BOYS" A THING OR TWO !

It was good to see him in the show .....and bad at the same time

He knew he didnt have the steam to win , and also knew he wouldnt have the car turned around in time even if he did win.

So rather than take a chance on blowing up his motor, he left early and collected his check for making the show.

Definately a "financial" red light

I know his brother,they are two opposite sides of a coin.

At 79 years old I would LOVE to be able to either run a top fuel car out of my pocket, or be mentally and physically able to drive one.

To get both seems like too much to ask of anybody. Greek leads a charmed life for sure.

I first saw him race at Houston in August of '58. It was at the big Garlits vs West Coast race. Don't remember how the greek did but Big Daddy came out on top in Swamp Rat I.

Truely one of the great guy hero's of the sport My Grandfather was good friends with him many years ago and I got to sit in his dragster as a very young lad-2 or 3 maybe, it was very long ago I talked to him last year when they were at Milan for the Motor City Nationals, he's very humble and its kinda cool to see his old style rig parked amongst the high dollar ones in the pits. He did say he was working on a book!
