I ran the Summit brand 6 quart 1970/71 Hemi/ 440 six pack oil pan with the stock oil pickup on my old 517 C.I. pump gas 400 stroker motor with a set of ported big valve 906 heads and later several different sets of aluminum haeds with 440 ports af=t first and later with a set of Indy M.W. SR heads with an Indy 400-3 intake and a older non-HP Holley 1050 CFM Dominator list # 9375 carb. I race the heck out of that car at both 1/4- and 1/8-mile tracks, best ET was 9.993 at 134.+ MPH in the 1/4 mile, CRS on the best 1/8 mile

The only time I had any oil pressure issues was on a 1/4 mile track when I let off(running 134.+ MPH) about 200 to 300 Ft. after the finish line would start to lose oil pressure when it at or below the add mark on the oil dipstick
![tsk tsk](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/custom/tsk.gif)
As long as it had enough oil in the pan cold to be above the add mark by about a 1/4 inch it wouldn't do that

That happened twice and not again by adding 1 quart of oil
